Common questions
Inside Lupo, until you choose to save a roll. Saving writes the frames into your own Photos library, into an album of their own.
Anything you haven't saved is lost if you delete Lupo. The app holds your negatives, prints and contact sheets in its own storage, and deleting the app deletes that storage. Save anything you want to keep.
The first roll you develop is rushed in five minutes, so that you can see what Lupo does. After that it's two hours. And that is the whole point — you don't see what you shot until the roll comes back.
Lupo can send a notification the moment a roll is finished, if you allow notifications. It's the only thing notifications are used for.
No — and this is deliberate. Rolls of film in Lupo are consumable purchases, and a roll is used up when you load it into the camera, in the same way a real roll is.
Because consumables are consumed, they can't be restored through the App Store once spent. If you believe you were charged in error, refunds are Apple's to give: reportaproblem.apple.com.
Film you have bought but not yet loaded should still be there. Lupo keeps a record of unspent rolls against a random identifier stored in your own iCloud account, so unloaded film follows you across a reinstall or a new device.
If you are not signed into iCloud, unspent film may not carry across a reinstall. Rolls already loaded and shot are spent either way.
It isn't meant to. Nothing rotates to correct you — turn the body and the picture turns with it, exactly as it would on film.
Lupo is held like a camera rather than like a phone, so the controls stay where your hands left them.
Twelve. There are no retakes and no burst — a short roll is what makes you think before the shutter.
No name, no email, no account, no location, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, and no tracking across other apps.
Your photographs never leave your device. The only thing that goes anywhere is a record of which rolls you have bought, so film you paid for is still there after you change phones. The privacy policy describes exactly what that record contains.
All purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are requested through Apple rather than through me: reportaproblem.apple.com.
If something in Lupo went wrong and cost you a roll, write to me anyway — I'd like to know about it.
